| As Mediator

The Catechism of the Catholic Church presents Mary as Mediatrix and an equivalent to Christ Jesus as the one who reconciles God and man.  Spiritually speaking, a mediator between God and man is the one who intercedes on our behalf.  According to the Scriptures, our petitioning God in prayer is acceptable to God through the mediation of Jesus Christ alone.  This issue of mediation between God and man must be taken with all seriousness because it is only in the one who is truly the God-man, Christ Jesus, that an individual can be brought into relationship with the All Holy God.  We are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ and through Him alone.

The Catechism Says:
The Bible Says:

#969 “Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the [Roman Catholic] Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.

I Timothy 2:5  There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

1 John 2:1  And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Hebrews 13:6  The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

# 2674 “…Jesus, the only mediator, is the way of our prayer; Mary, his mother and ours, is wholly transparent to him: she ‘shows the way’ (hodigitria), and is herself ‘the Sign’ of the way…”

John 14:6  I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,  but by me.”

The Heavenly Father sent His only Son so that sinners may come to Him directly through “the man Christ Jesus”.  To advance the claim that there is another assistant, mediatrix, advocate or helper is a total contradiction of the written Word of God.  So much confusion is set forth in official teaching of the Catholic Church that the very distinctive workings of God, the Holy Spirit and His Son are attributed to the Roman Catholic Mary.  Do not be deceived, your prayers to Mary do not reach up to the Father in heaven.  But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2).  But Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
