Mary  |  The All Holy One

The Bible clearly teaches that God alone is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being.  God is wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.  He is the all Holy One.  His Holiness is the attribute that covers all attributes so that His righteousness is Holy, His truth is Holy, and His justice is Holy.  He is each of His attributes, and the overall attribute of holiness is that which separates Him from all beings.  None the less the Catechism of the Catholic Church addresses Mary as “‘Mother of Mercy,’ the All Holy One’”.

The Catechism Says:

#2677 “By asking Mary to pray for us, we acknowledge ourselves to be poor sinners and we address ourselves to the ‘Mother of Mercy,’ the All Holy One.

The Bible Says:

Revelation. 15: 4  Who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name?  For Thou only art Holy: for all nations shall come and worship before Thee…

Isaiah. 6:3  Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

The Catechism Says:

#2030 “From the Church he learns the example of holiness and recognizes its model and source in the all-holy Virgin Mary…”

The Bible Says:

I Samuel 2:2  There is none holy as the Lord:  for there is none beside Thee:  neither is there any rock like our God.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

The Catholic teaching that Mary is “the All Holy One” is a very serious charge.  God’s Word, the Bible proclaims, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts:  the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah. 6:3).  To call Mary the All Holy One and the source of holiness is blasphemy and totally apposed to the Scriptures.  This irreverent teaching is an attempted theft of the very essence of the divine glory.  The reason why we need to be saved before the All Holy God is because, in the words of Scripture, “there is none holy as the Lord:  for there is none besides Thee: neither is there any rock like our God.” (I Samuel 2:2).

As with many Catholics, this might be the first time you have been confronted with this truth.  It is obvious that the Roman Catholic Church is making Mary out to be God.  However, now that you have clearly seen the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church in light of Biblical truth, you cannot hold that the Bible is true and remain loyal to this Catholic teaching.  The Bible and the Catholic teaching are diametrically opposed to each other:  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve… (Joshua 24:15)
